CBSE Class 10 Result 2023 Declared Pass Percentage Is 93.12%

The Central Board of Education (CBSE) declared the class 10 board results on 12th May 2023, alongside the results for the class 12 board exams. Students can view their mark sheets on the official website.

The exams were conducted from 15th February to 21st March 2023. A total of 21,65,805 students appeared for the exams that over 24 thousand schools conducted. Out of them, 20,16,779 students passed the exam.

This year, CBSE has decided not to release a merit list and will not award first, second and third place awards to students to eliminate unhealthy competition. For students who want to opt for the re-evaluation of answer sheets, photocopy and verification of marks, the facility will start on 16th May 2023.

CBSE has declared that the 2024 board exams will start from 15th February 2024.

Key Highlights of Class 10 2023 Results

The main highlights of the class 10 board exams are as follows:

  • The overall pass percentage is 93.12%, marking a jump in the pre-pandemic pass percentage of 2021, which was 91.10%.
  • Compared to last year, the pass percentage saw a 1.28% decrease.
  • CBSE will issue merit certificates for the top 0.1% of students who have scored the highest marks in different subjects.
  • Trivandrum recorded the highest pass percentage of all 16 regions at 99.91%, followed by Bengaluru, Chennai, Ajmer and Pune, securing the top 5 slots with over 95%. Guwahati recorded the lowest percentage at 76.90%.
  • Girls performed better than boys this year by obtaining a 94.25 pass percentage. The boys achieved a 92.27 pass percentage.
  • 9.04% of students scored over 90% and above, while 2.05% of students obtained 95% and up marks.

A total of 1,34,774 students were placed in Compartment this year.

Supplementary Examinations

Students who want to improve their performance in a maximum of 2 subjects or those who have been placed in the supplementary category can apply for supplementary exams, which will take place in July 2023.

Step 1: Open any one of the official websites.

Step 2: Click on the results link given on the page.

Step 3: Enter your roll number, school number, date of birth, and admit card ID as required.

Step 4: Your scorecard should now be visible on the screen.
